Welcome Tater Tots to New Website!

Dear Valued Customers.

You will all have a new and improved experience when you go to the Tater Tours website, http://tatertours.com. You’ll notice the format has changed. it is now being hosted by Blog Spot. While I’ll be able to blog and share the latest updates with you in real time, you’ll also find all the trip information, updates, polices and photos that you are used to seeing on my web site.

Look around. The side bar and upper tabs will lead you to the crucial information you’ll need to get excited about walking and traveling!  You’ll also find places where you can comment and tweet or post our trips to your Facebook page. There is even a mobile format for your smart phone and tablets.

Be sure and visit often. I’ll be letting you know all about our walking tours.

(More than just a volksmarching tour! I have been in business for 20 years and this trip has got to 
be one of the best tours I have put together, along with the help of Premier Alaska Tours!

JULY 8TH – 21ST, 2015

July 8th (Wednesday):
  Fly Day ONLY into Anchorage, Alaska!!  Hotel accommodations at the 
Quality Suites or similar hotel for 3 nights!  Continental Breakfast included.  Local tour guide will be 
at the airport to greet the Tater Tots as they arrive and will provide transportation to our hotel.) 
Suggestion:  For those people traveling from the East Coast, you might want to fly into Seattle and 
stay overnight to get acclimated to the time change and then fly next day into Anchorage. (Makes for 
an awful long day to try and fly to Anchorage in one day.)


July 9th (Thursday): Explore Anchorage in the morning on your own.  (We have a designated walk 
(volksmarch) that we will do, starting from the Westmark Hotel at your convenience.  We can walk 
there) In the afternoon, enjoy a 2 hour Anchorage City Tour. (Board deluxe motorcoach to stop at the 
Ulu Factory, 
www.theulufactory.com) with another stop at Ship Creek to possibly see the salmon 
running.  Visit Earthquake Park and Lake Hood to watch the float planes take off over the water. Visit 
the Alaska Botanical Gardens.  Return to hotel.


July 10th (Friday): In the morning, participate in another volksmarch.  In the afternoon, tour Alaska 
Native Heritage Center, (
www.alaskanative.net ) a gathering place that celebrates, perpetuates, and 
shares Alaska Native Cultures.  Return to hotel.


July 11th (Saturday): Depart Anchorage by deluxe motorcoach and travel North to Denali National 
Park with a stop at the Iditarod Headquarters to learn about the last race.  Hotel accommodations 
for 3 nights at Denali Park Village or similar hotel.  Breakfast not included.


July 12th (Sunday): Enjoy the town of Denali plus participate in volksmarch at your convenience. 
Other optional activities include rafting down the Nenana River or a helicopter flightseeing tour. The 
evening we will enjoy a night of fun, food and frivolity at the Denali Dinner Theater.  Go back in time 
and join a group of characters as they treat you to hilarious stories of living in Denali National Park 
featuring foot stomping, knee slapping music. Return to hotel.


July 13th (Monday):  Travel by bus into Denali National Park on the Murie Excursion.  This five hour 
tour stops at different times throughout the park to allow for brief walks.  Along the way you will be 
accompanied by a naturalist guide that will provide unique insight on the animals, flora, and overall 
history of Denali. You will also get a chance to see Denali’s “Big 5” consisting of bears, moose, 
caribou, dall sheep and wolves.  Return to our hotel.


July 14th (Tuesday):  Travel on deluxe motorcoach for a drive to Fairbanks, the Golden Heart City.  
Participate in volksmarch in afternoon.  Hotel accommodations at the Springhill Suites or similar 
hotel.  Continental Breakfast included.


July 15th (Wednesday): Enjoy a cruise on the Chena River aboard a sternwheeler and experience 
the thrill of river travel.  Later, enjoy a visit to the North Pole and Santa Claus House where it is 
always Christmas!  Return to hotel.


July 16th (Thursday): Travel South to Denali and transfer to the Denali Rail Depot where you will 
board a Deluxe Dome Railcar for a scenic train ride to the quaint town of Talkeetna, nestled at the 
base of Mt. McKinley.  Possible sanctioned volksmarch here.  Hotel accommodations at the 
Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge or similar hotel.  Breakfast not included.


July 17th (Friday): Continue South on our motorcoach for a scenic drive to Kenai Peninsula and 
Seward.  Enjoy a stop at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, where you will see Alaska’s 
critters up close prior to arriving in Seward.  Hotel accommodations at the Seward-Best Western 
Edgewater Hotel for 3 nights or similar hotel.  Continental Breakfast included.


July 18th (Saturday): Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise  ( www.nps.gov.kefj Transfer to Small 
Boat Harbor where you board your vessel for the day as you take a six hour cruise viewing marine 
wildlife and glacier.  Keep your eye open for whales, sea otters, sea lions, walrus, eagles, bears 
and much more.  Lunch on cruise. Return to hotel.


July 19th (Sunday): Exit Glacier Tour, one hour ranger led tour.  Stop at the Ranger Station to view 
exhibits and information while listening to rangers provide interpretive programs and talks about 
the glacier and the Harding Ice field.  Return to hotel.


July 20th (Monday): Participate in sanctioned volksmarch, walking through the town of Seward.  
Start our journey back to Anchorage in the afternoon.  Hotel accommodations at the Quality Suites 
in Anchorage or similar hotel for just one night.  Continental Breakfast included


July 21st (Tuesday):  Transfer from hotel to the airport.  Fly Day ONLY back to home destinations!!!  
Hopefully returning to your home destinations with some great memories of the great State of 
Alaska!!

Tater Tours Trip to Georgia, Florida, Alabama - February 10th - 19th 2015

TATER TOURS TO GEORGIA, FLORIDA, ALABAMA FEBRUARY 10TH – 19TH 2015
Downtown Atlanta, Georgia
Feb. 10th (Tues.):  Fly day only to Atlanta, Georgia Airport. Hotel Accommodations at the Drury Inn & Suites 
for 2 glorious nights! (404) 761-4900 Full Hot Breakfast  included and free shuttle from airport. Short 
meeting that evening at 7:30 p.m.  Free Hot Food & Evening Beverages!


Feb. 11th (Wed.) :  Drive to downtown Atlanta for two year round events.  The first walk is called the “Capital” 
walk.  Passes the State Capital, MLK Center, Underground Atlanta, Jimmy Carter Library/Museum, and 
Georgia State University.  The second  walk is the “Midtown” walk.  That walk includes Centennial Olympic 
Park, the Georgia Tech University campus, passing Bobby Dodd Stadium, Grant Field, Tech Tower, and 
down the famous Peachtree Street.  Return to our hotel.


Feb. 12th (Thur.): Drive to Montgomery, Alabama for the Capital Walk.  This event passes the Alabama State 
Capital building, the White House of the Confederacy, Martin Luther King Memorial, several historic 
churches, a confederate cemetery and Hank Williams' grave site.  Drive to Orange Beach, Alabama for our  
hotel for 4 glorious nights! The Start/Finish for the Alabama Walking Weekend, Hampton Inn & Suites, (251) 
923-4400 Continental Breakfast included. Located right on the Gulf Beach!! For the next three days we will 
spend doing the Alabama walks.


Feb. 13th, 14th, 15th  (Fri. Sat. Sun.):  Walking Extravaganza in Alabama!! Participate in a possible 14 
events (7 walks, 4 swims, 3 bikes) Go to

available. (The walks for these 3 days and the Meet and Greet are NOT in the price of the trip. At the time of 
this publication, I did not know what walks, bikes and swims that people wanted to do.  Transportation will 
be provided to walks.


Feb. 16th (Mon.):  Drive a short distance to Perdido Key, Florida to participate in one of the Pensacola Club 
walking events.  Continue onto Pensacola to participate in the Historic Walk.  Trail is routed along 
Pensacola Bay, through the historic district and parts of downtown. There has been a lot of preservation and 
restoration here! The walk loops through St Michael's Cemetery with internments dating back to 
Pensacola's early history. Grave sites include that of Stephen Mallory, first Secretary of the Navy of the 
Confederacy.  Drive to Pensacola Beach for hotel accommodations at the Hampton Inn, right on the Beach!

Feb 17th (Tues.):  Drive a short distance Fort Walton Beach to participate in the year round event. Easy 
beautiful Florida walk that begins at a small city park, continues thru residential areas, along Ft. Walton 
Landing (waterfront park),passing a Historical Indian Mound,  and old schoolhouse. You will pass one of 
the most interesting McDonald's anywhere, filled with the best McDonald’s historical memorabilia in the 
country. Be sure to go in and look around.  Continue for another short drive to Top Sail Preserve State Park 
located at Santa Rosa Beach area.  5K walk is on paved trail. 10K walk is on combination of paved and 
sand trails, on beach, and thru campground.  Walk takes you past ponds, through pine woods, over 
gorgeous white sandy beach, and thru campground passing many amenities.  Shorebirds in abundance. 
Other wildlife can be spotted often.

Drive a few miles to Panama City Beach area for hotel accommodations at the Holiday Inn Resort (across 
the road from Beach!) for 2 glorious nights! (850) 234-1111 Breakfast not included but reduced price  
coupons will be provided. Panama City Airport (ECP) is about 16 miles away and a reduced fare will be 
provided from local taxi cab.


Feb 18th (Wed.): Enjoy our last day in Florida with the Panama City walk.  This walk passes through much 
of "old" St Andrews on sidewalks/streets along the Bay. Route passes thru neighborhoods and follows a 
portion of a walking track in the Women’s Garden Club. In the afternoon, possibly some sightseeing or just 
enjoy the BEACH!!!!  Return to hotel.


Feb. 19th (Thurs.): FLY DAY ONLY BACK TO HOME DESTINATIONS! The local airport services Southwest 
Airlines and Delta Airlines.

Tater Tours to the AVA Convention in Oregon and More - June 10th - 22nd, 2015

June 10th (Wed.): Fly day only to Portland, Oregon Airport. Hotel Accommodations at 
the Clarion Hotel for 3 glorious nights! (503) 252-2222 Continental Breakfast included 
and free shuttle from airport. Short meeting that evening at 7:30 p.m.
   

June 11th(Thur.): 
Drive to Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge for sightseeing 
and then onto Hood River for year round event. This walk goes on the Indian Creek Trail 
with Magnificent Views of Mt. Hood (in the distance) and the river. Then go down 242 
stair steps to Old Town Hood River and the Railway Station. Then through downtown and 
back through old neighborhoods to finish. Return to hotel.


June 12th(Fri.):  Drive to Olympia, Washington for the Capital Walk. Walk around 
Capitol Lake, through State Capitol grounds, downtown Olympia and Olympia's 
waterfront in what  walking advocate, Sue Parks calls the "most stunning setting" of all 
the US capital cities. In the afternoon, drive to Aberdeen, on the Washington coastline for 
a walk.  The 5K walks through parts of downtown and along the riverfront. 11K includes 
downtown, plus old and new homes up on the hilltops.  Return to hotel.       


June 13th (Sat.): 
Depart the Portland area and drive to Bend, Oregon for the 1st 
Convention Walk. Hotel accommodations for 1 night at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Bend

June 14th (Sun.): Drive a short distance to the AVA 2nd walk located at Clear Lake. 
Hotel accommodations at the Host Hotel for the AVA Convention, Grand Hotel in Salem

June 15th (Mon.): Drive to Silver Falls for one of the best walks that I have ever done 
with 10 Water Falls on the 10KM.  Return to hotel.


June 16th (Tues.): Drive to Lincoln City, along the Oregon coastline for another 
Convention Walk. Return to hotel. Meet & Greet
