TRIP TO THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS OF OAHU, HAWAII, AND MAUI November 6 - 17, 2019

TATER TOURS TRIP TO THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS OF OAHU, HAWAII, AND MAUI

More than just a volksmarching tour! We are doing a possible 8 walks but more sightseeing and free time to enjoy all the islands!

NOVEMBER 6 - NOVEMBER 17, 2019

Nov. 6th (Wednesday): Fly Day ONLY into Honolulu, Hawaii!! Hotel accommodations at the OHANA Waikiki East by Outrigger Hotel in Waikiki Beach area for 5 glorious nights. (Breakfast will be included at this hotel only! The other two hotels were too expensive!) Prior to the trip, you can call or go online to make shuttle reservations from the airport to the hotel. There are plenty of shuttle services to the Waikiki area. You can also hop on a Shuttle Bus that stops at different hotels in the Waikiki Area right from the Baggage Claim Area. (Average price is $17.00 one way per person.)

Suggestion: For those people traveling from the East Coast, you might want to fly into Las Vegas and stay overnight to get acclimated to the time change and then fly the next day into Honolulu. (Makes for an awfully long day to try and fly to Honolulu in one day. (5-hour difference from East Coast) Las Vegas has non-stop flights to Honolulu on Hawaiian Air Lines.)

Each hotel has mandatory baggage handling, so please one large suitcase ONLY! You can always bring a carry-on bag too! (I hope to have a welcome desk in the lobby of the hotel to hand out luggage tags, etc.)

Nov. 7th (Thursday): Hopefully participate in two volksmarches from our hotel. Start Waikiki Beach Walk (YRE0166) in the middle of the walk, stamp your books at the original Start/Finish, and then start Kahala Walk (YRE0988). Finish walk and then continue with Waikiki Beach walk back to the hotel.

Nov. 8th (Friday): Sightseeing Day Only! (We will be using Roberts of Hawaii for all our Motor Coach transportation for all the islands.) Early morning departure for the Pearl Harbor – USS Arizona – Honolulu City Tour. In the afternoon, continue to Halona Point/Blow Hole and Diamond Head, to climb to the TOP, for those wanting to do so. Return to the hotel.

Nov. 9th (Saturday): Depart our hotel and drive to participate in sanctioned walk located in Koko Crater Botanical Garden. Return to our hotel for some downtime and then that evening, drive to Germaine’s Luau for an evening of great food and festivities! Return to the hotel.

Nov. 10th (Sunday): Depart our hotel and drive to the North Shore for the Turtle Bay sanctioned walk. In the afternoon, we will drive back to the Honolulu area for the Capital Walk (YRE1312) Return to our hotel for the last night! Think about packing that suitcase!

Nov. 11th (Monday): Depart the island of Oahu and fly to the “Big Island” of Hawaii on a noon short flight to Kona. Our short ride from the airport to our hotel for 3 nights at the Royal Kona Beach Hotel located in Kailua-Kona. Free time this late afternoon to investigate the surrounding area. (I might have a walk sanctioned from our hotel) OR do the Kona Walk (YRE 1181)

Nov. 12th (Tuesday): Sightseeing Day only! Travel by bus for the Grand Circle Island Tour. Places that we will visit our Coffee Plantation, Place of Refuge, Rainbow Falls, and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, just to name a few highlights! (At this time, we do not know how much of the Volcano Park we will be able to visit.) Return to our hotel. Click on tours and activities for Hawaii. (Remember, we have our own bus)

Nov. 13th (Wednesday): Travel with Roberts of Hawaii to Pu’ukohola Heaui National Historic Site and then to Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park for some sightseeing and hiking. Return to our hotel.

Nov. 14th (Thursday): Enjoy our last few hours on Hawaii (the Big Island) before we catch our short flight to Maui this afternoon. Our hotel for 3 nights is the Royal Lahaina Resort located in Lahaina. Explore the beautiful grounds of this resort! (A couple of restaurants on premise) If you so desire, walk about one mile to Whaler’s Village, an area with many shops and restaurants! (Might sanction a walk from our resort)

Nov. 15th (Friday): Day of Sightseeing! Board our motor coach for the IAO Valley-Lahaina Tour. Highlights of the tour are: Iao Valley State Park – A stop at Iao Valley State Park, now a botanical garden, site of where the iconic King Kamehameha, the unifier of the Hawaiian Islands, once did battle with Maui forces, Iao Needle – The majestic Iao Needle, a natural land formation that towers above the rainforest floor and Lahaina (We might be dropped off in Lahaina to participate in volksmarch (YRE2001)) Return to our hotel.

Nov. 16th (Saturday): At the time of the publication of this brochure, Roberts of Hawaii is not permitted to enter Haleakala National Park. This day can either be spent arranging a tour to the National Park, via the Concierge Desk or relax along the beaches or pool of the Resort.

Nov. 17th (Sunday): Fly day to our home destinations! Reminiscing about the great memories of our Hawaiian Islands Tour! Check with other people on the tour to see if you can arrange a group van shuttle to the Kahului Airport. Also, check with the Concierge Desk upon arrival with options.
