February 18 (Monday) Drive to Fairhope, Alabama for the last walk of the President’s Walking Weekend. Continue our journey to Jackson, Mississippi for Capital Walk. New walk route has 2 loops. North loop goes past Belhaven University and Millsaps College and Eudora Welty home museum (5K). South loop goes past the Old Capital Museum, the Governor's Mansion and the Mississippi State Capital. February 19 (Tuesday) Participate in Jackson Capital Walk and continue to Baton Rouge, Louisiana for another Capital Walk. The trail will take you through the downtown area of Baton Rouge, past the capitol building and through Spanish Town. And finally continue onto New Orleans, Louisiana for hotel accommodations for 2 nights at the Drury Inn & Suites, (504) 529-7800 Full Hot Breakfast included. Free Hot Food & Evening Beverages! February 20 (Wednesday) Participate in the New Orleans year round event. Explore New Orleans,
it's riverfront, French Quarters, Bourbon St, and WWII Museum. (Hopefully start the walk from our hotel) Take a river cruise down the Mississippi River in the afternoon or visit the World War II Museum, if you so desire. (Not included)

April 30 (Tuesday) FLY DAY ONLY TO SEA-TAC AIRPORT IN SEATTLE, WASHINGTON

MAY 1 (Wednesday) Depart Seattle area and travel North to Anacortes, Washington for the ferry Ride to Sidney, British Columbia. After our arrival on Vancouver Island, drive to Victoria for 5 glorious nights! Our hotel is the Royal Scot Hotel & Suites, (250) 388-5463 Full Breakfast Buffet included.

May 2 (Thursday) Depart hotel and drive to Butchart Gardens for a self-guided tour! Spend a few hours here and then return to our hotel for an evening guided group walk scheduled at the Coast Hotel, short distance from our hotel.

May 3 (Friday) This day starts the Phoenix Festival, located in the Elk Lake area. (About 1⁄2 hour Drive from our hotel)

May 4 (Saturday) Participate in Phoenix Festival! We will be doing the Mount Douglas Park Walk in the morning and Saanich Trails in the afternoon. Return to hotel.

May 7 (Tuesday) Depart our hotel and participate in a 2 part Walk, 1st 5K in Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park and then in the afternoon the 2nd 5K in MacMillan Provincial Park.

May 9 (Thursday) Depart Port Alberni area and travel to the East Side of Vancouver Island for the Qualicum Beach Walk. June 8 (Saturday) Fly day only into Manchester, New Hampshire Airport. Hotel Accommodations at the Holiday Inn Express for 2 nights!! (603) 669-6800 Continental Breakfast included and free shuttle from airport. Short meeting that evening at 7:00 p.m.

June 9 (Sunday) Drive to Portsmouth, New Hampshire for the 1st Pre-Convention walk of the trip. The 3rd oldest city in the US, settled in 1623 as a fishing port. 17th & 18th century houses with staff in period dress that demonstrate traditional crafts. In the afternoon, continue to Exeter, NH., the former Capital for year round event. This town was settled in 1638, rich in history and architecture. Return to our hotel in Manchester.

June 10 (Monday) Drive to Danvers, Massachusetts for 2nd Pre-Convention walk. Another historic walk, rich in history. Many highlights to see on this walk! June 11 (Tuesday) Depart our hotel and drive a short distance to the Springfield Convention walk. This walk will take you through Forest Park, one of the largest urban, municipal parks in the USA. Continue our journey to Troy, New York to participate in the year round event. The

June 12 (Wednesday) Participate in the AVA Convention walks, socials and meetings! Drive to the Cohoes and Waterford Convention walks. Cohoes is called the “Spindle City” because of the Importance of textile manufacturing. The Waterford walk includes views of Cohoes Falls, Goat and Peebles Island. Enter Waterford Lock #2 to observe the operation of the lock System on the Erie Canal. Return to our hotel.

 June 13 (Thursday) Drive to Saratoga National Historic Park for Convention Walk. We will be walking specific sections of the Battlefield! Return to our hotel.

June 14 (Friday) Participate in President David Bonewitz Convention Walk in the Historic Capital City of Albany. Walking the downtown area, Corning Preserve and along the Hudson River. Return to our hotel.

June 15 (Saturday) Drive to Cooperstown, New York for the Post-Convention walk. This walk will pass through the village residential area, the historic Main Street and the National Baseball
Hall of Fame. Hopefully time to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame. Continue to Niagara Falls, New York for hotel accommodations at the Holiday Inn for 2 nights (716) 285-2521. Full Breakfast included.

June 16 (Sunday)Participate in the last AVA Convention Walk in Buffalo, New York. This walk connects 3 trails that will include the Erie Basin Marina Trail, Erie Canal way Trail and the Buffalo Harbor State Park. Return to our hotel.

Participate in the Niagara Falls year round event. (If you decide to walk across the Border into Canada, YOU MUST HAVE A PASSPORT!) There is a 5/10K walk entirely on the US side with views of Canada.

June 17 (Tuesday) Drive to Lockport, New York for year round event. Will include the Erie Canal towpath, historic homes in this important city on the water route to the West. In the afternoon, drive to Lewiston, New York for our LAST walk of the tour. This is a War of 1812 walk that goes through the charming village. Oct. 10 (Thursday) Fly day only to BWI (Baltimore/Washington Airport.) Hotel Accommodations at the Holiday Inn Express - BWI Airport West for 1 night.  Oct. 11 (Friday) Depart the Holiday Inn Express near Baltimore, Maryland and drive to New York City for our Circle Line Ferry Tour around New York City. (This is a 2 1⁄2 Hour ferry ride that does go by the Statue of Liberty.) (No volksmarching today!) Hotel accommodations at the LaQuinta Inn & Suites in Secaucus, New Jersey (201) 863-8700 close to the Lincoln Tunnel for 4 glorious nights! Full breakfast included. Oct. 12 (Saturday) Participate in the Central Park and Mid-Town Manhattan walk. We will be here all day! The Central Park walk passes many significant sites, including the Jackie Kennedy Reservoir and many museums. The Mid-Town Manhattan walk goes by Time Square, Madison Square Garden, the U.N Complex, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Return to our hotel.

Oct. 13 (Sunday) Participate in the Greenwich Village walk. This walk visits Chinatown, Little Italy, and Washington Square. In the afternoon, we will see the Matinee Broadway Show Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. Return to our hotel.

Oct. 14 (Monday) Participate in the Lower Manhattan walk. We will be in this area most of the day so you can do the 9/11 Museum on your own or possibly take the ferry from Battery Park to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. (Fees not included in total price.) The walk visits Hudson River Esplanade with views of Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty, South Street Seaport, the Financial District with Wall Street, the NYSC, and the World Trade Center area. Return to our hotel.

Oct. 15 (Tuesday) Depart our hotel and travel to the Long Island area to participate in the Port Jefferson walk. The walk passes through the town of Port Jefferson as well as numerous historic homes located in Suffolk County (Long Island), NY. We will
then continue to the Southampton area with a step-on guide, who is very knowledgeable of the area. Participate in another walk in Southampton! This walk is composed of two 5k walks both starting/finishing from the same location. The first 5k walk passes by numerous Southampton residences to the nearby ocean beach where the route walks along a short section of the beach (about 0.5k) before returning to the start along a route that includes walking next to Agawam Lake. The second 5k walk passes downtown shops and restaurants, the Southampton town hall, and numerous Southampton residences. Hotel accommodations at the Hampton Inn in Farmingville, New York. Oct. 16th (Wednesday) Tour Day! Tour Old Westbury Gardens. Then continue to Sagamore Hill National Historic Site at Oyster Bay. TRIP TO THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS OF OAHU, HAWAII, AND MAUI November 6 - 17, 2019


TATER TOURS TRIP TO THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS OF OAHU, HAWAII, AND MAUI

More than just a volksmarching tour! We are doing a possible 8 walks but more sightseeing and free time to enjoy all the islands!

NOVEMBER 6 - NOVEMBER 17, 2019

Nov. 6th (Wednesday): Fly Day ONLY into Honolulu, Hawaii!! Hotel accommodations at the OHANA Waikiki East by Outrigger Hotel in Waikiki Beach area for 5 glorious nights. (Breakfast will be included at this hotel only! The other two hotels were too expensive!) Prior to the trip, you can call or go online to make shuttle reservations from the airport to the hotel. There are plenty of shuttle services to the Waikiki area. You can also hop on a Shuttle Bus that stops at different hotels in the Waikiki Area right from the Baggage Claim Area. (Average price is $17.00 one way per person.)



 Suggestion: For those people traveling from the East Coast, you might want to fly into Las Vegas and stay overnight to get acclimated to the time change and then fly the next day into Honolulu. (Makes for an awfully long day to try and fly to Honolulu in one day. (5-hour difference from East Coast) Las Vegas has non-stop flights to Honolulu on Hawaiian Air Lines.)

Each hotel has mandatory baggage handling, so please one large suitcase ONLY! You can always bring a carry-on bag too! (I hope to have a welcome desk in the lobby of the hotel to hand out luggage tags, etc.)

 Nov. 7th (Thursday): Hopefully participate in two volksmarches from our hotel. Start Waikiki Beach Walk (YRE0166) in the middle of the walk, stamp your books at the original Start/Finish, and then start Kahala Walk (YRE0988). Finish walk and then continue with Waikiki Beach walk back to the hotel.

Nov. 8th (Friday): Sightseeing Day Only! (We will be using Roberts of Hawaii for all our Motor Coach transportation for all the islands.) Early morning departure for the Pearl Harbor – USS Arizona – Honolulu City Tour. In the afternoon, continue to Halona Point/Blow Hole and Diamond Head, to climb to the TOP, for those wanting to do so. Return to the hotel.

Nov. 9th (Saturday): Depart our hotel and drive to participate in sanctioned walk located in Koko Crater Botanical Garden. Return to our hotel for some downtime and then that evening, drive to Germaine’s Luau for an evening of great food and festivities! Return to the hotel.

 Nov. 10th (Sunday): Depart our hotel and drive to the North Shore for the Turtle Bay sanctioned walk. In the afternoon, we will drive back to the Honolulu area for the Capital Walk (YRE1312) Return to our hotel for the last night! Think about packing that suitcase!

Nov. 11th (Monday): Depart the island of Oahu and fly to the “Big Island” of Hawaii on a noon short flight to Kona. Our short ride from the airport to our hotel for 3 nights at the Royal Kona Beach Hotel located in Kailua-Kona. Free time this late afternoon to investigate the surrounding area. (I might have a walk sanctioned from our hotel) OR do the Kona Walk (YRE 1181)

Nov. 12th (Tuesday): Sightseeing Day only! Travel by bus for the Grand Circle Island Tour. Places that we will visit our Coffee Plantation, Place of Refuge, Rainbow Falls, and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, just to name a few highlights! (At this time, we do not know how much of the Volcano Park we will be able to visit.) Return to our hotel. Click on tours and activities for Hawaii. (Remember, we have our own bus)

 Nov. 13th (Wednesday): Travel with Roberts of Hawaii to Pu’ukohola Heaui National Historic Site and then to Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park for some sightseeing and hiking. Return to our hotel.

Nov. 14th (Thursday): Enjoy our last few hours on Hawaii (the Big Island) before we catch our short flight to Maui this afternoon. Our hotel for 3 nights is the Royal Lahaina Resort located in Lahaina. Explore the beautiful grounds of this resort! (A couple of restaurants on premise) If you so desire, walk about one mile to Whaler’s Village, an area with many shops and restaurants! (Might sanction a walk from our resort)

 Nov. 15th (Friday): Day of Sightseeing! Board our motor coach for the IAO Valley-Lahaina Tour. Highlights of the tour are: Iao Valley State Park – A stop at Iao Valley State Park, now a botanical garden, site of where the iconic King Kamehameha, the unifier of the Hawaiian Islands, once did battle with Maui forces, Iao Needle – The majestic Iao Needle, a natural land formation that towers above the rainforest floor and Lahaina (We might be dropped off in Lahaina to participate in volksmarch (YRE2001)) Return to our hotel.

 
Nov. 16th (Saturday): At the time of the publication of this brochure, Roberts of Hawaii is not permitted to enter Haleakala National Park. This day can either be spent arranging a tour to the National Park, via the Concierge Desk or relax along the beaches or pool of the Resort.

Nov. 17th (Sunday): Fly day to our home destinations! Reminiscing about the great memories of our Hawaiian Islands Tour! Check with other people on the tour to see if you can arrange a group van shuttle to the Kahului Airport. Also, check with the Concierge Desk upon arrival with options.

Tater Tour cost of the trip will include:
